Absent: Peter Melnyk
Meeting called to order: At 7:05pm by VP Garrett Pick
Approval of Minutes: VP Pick moved to approve the minutes from the February 19, 2007 meeting. Seconded by Director Lundell.
New ladder in pool installed, approximate cost $650.
No complaints in the last several months.
Men’s bathroom reconditioning: urinal is located too high on wall. Possibly smaller boys are missing urinal. Need to address this. Flushing of toilets is an issue with all toilets. Expert suggested that pipes are too small. We may want to change toilets back to tank toilet. Joe is waiting for call back from plumber for estimate to relocate urinal and where to get new partitions.
Car wash on Sunday, May 6, 2007 ran from 10-2pm. Approx. 12 students and 4 parents attended. Insurance company was contacted and verified that people on property were covered. If we are going to do this on a regular basis, we might want to consider getting a rider on insurance. Kaiser provided insurance for people at car wash. Three more requests for car washes have since come in. Joe has granted permission to one more group from Kaiser High School for a car wash on Sunday, May 20, 2007. BOD decided that Joe may allow two more organizations to do car washes (Kaiser High School and HYSA Soccer) and make it clear that we won’t allow any future car washes.
Rubber trees will be thinned out, coconut trees will be addressed.
Joe suggesting that side entrance to main walk way with small rocks should be concreted in to avoid rocks in kiddie pool.
Joe Barros excused from remainder of the meeting.
Director Lundell to ask Lorri Jessee for update BOD roster.
Director Kocher will send out a NSW reminder about the Mariners Cove garage sale this weekend and possible extra traffic in the neighborhood.
President Worrall discussed the transition from Met Management to Hawaiian Properties. He will get a contract from them so we know what we are paying them and what services they provide.
President Worrall will follow up with Peter Melnyk to discuss his intentions with regards to continuing serving on the Board.
Solar Heating update: Don Garwood provided a copy of the ballot via e-mail today. Question for Don: how many ballots need to be returned in order to be considered a “consensus”? Director Lundell will suggest that Don Garwood add an option giving Board the authority to make a decision, similar to the Annual Meeting ballots. Under “Note #2” please change to “address” instead of “apartment number(s)”. Please add deadline for voting. Please highlight that approval of this will NOT increase monthly dues.
Garage sale: May 19, 2007. Director Todebush to follow up with Joe on sandwich boards to advertise garage sale at three entrances to Mariners Cove. BOD approved funds for Director Todebush to run ad on Fri/Sat in Advertiser and Star Bulletin. VP Pick to run free ad on Craig’s List.
President Worrall briefly discussed water main upgrade and street work. It appears to be almost done, with one final patch due.
Director Lundell mentioned a private party she is hosting on July 4 (Bike Parade) which will utilize part of the parking lot for a short 5 minute parade. It will also be open to the residents of Mariners Cove via our website. Board discussed keeping a few stalls open for residents who come to swim and otherwise had no issues with the event.
