Renovations to the restrooms counter tops will begin on June 25-27. I instructed Joe Barros to raise the height of the counters to meet the ADA guidelines. The floor tiling and painting will follow. Signs will also be posted where needed.
Joe will convert the restrooms to unisex usage based on need at the renovation moment. The clubhouse and pools will remain open. Work will be done in the early part of the week to avoid the weekend high usage period.
The partitions to the stalls will also be removed to allow wheel chair accessibility. We currently are in compliance being that we are grandfathered in before the new regulations were issued in 1992. However, eventually we will have to renovate the restrooms to accommodate persons in wheelchairs and or walking devices, (our community is getting older) it would be cost effective to do it now as compared to removing the counter tops and floor tiles later again. The only thing remaining would be to widen the entry doors to the restrooms, that will be very costly but will also be done.
Joe and Zack will be saving the association money by doing all the demolition work, painting, and re-tiling the floors. A professional will be installing the counter tops.
