Hawaiian Properties has requested that Mariner’s Cove residents be advised of a bill (HB475) recently introduced in the Legislature that could affect the Mariner’s Cove Association (MCA). This bill, if passed in its current form, would require notification to all members of an association of any meetings of the association or board of directors no less than 14 days prior to the meeting. There are several methods of approved notification listed, including the use of the U.S. Postal Service mail. Hawaiian Properties is concerned that, if passed, this bill might require them to mail such notices to all 410 home owners, which would incur substantial expense to the MCA.
Cove residents who want further information on this bill or to submit testimony can go to:
Testimony can be sent via e-mail using the “submit testimony” button on the top right centre of the page. It can also be submitted via regular mail or in person. There will be a hearing on this bill in front of the House Committee on Housing (HSG) on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 8:45AM in House conference room 329.
