This from a member of the Hawaii Kai Neighborhood Board --
The owner of Hawaii Memorial Park, TMK 390190440000, owes the City $68,000 in past due Real Property Taxes and Interest, per public record (see below).
The lady that films our Hawaii Kai Neighborhood Board meetings could not get paid, because she could not get a tax clearance, she could not get a tax clearance because she could not get payment from the city, but the cemetery people could spend all the money the city gave to them to do the roads work in Hawaii Kai, and place all the road asphalt waste in the valley but do not have to pay their taxes.
Maybe a new law is needed, so if you have a city contract, all of your taxes, have to be pay including the real property taxes on the dumping sites. Maybe no permits should be given if real property taxes is in arrears. You have to think, how come you can buy a property for $1,587,300.00 AND NOT PAY THE BACK PROPERTY TAXES. How can a property go from $1,100,000.00 to $7,950,000.00 then to $11,365,916.00 and then to $1,587,300.00 and have a Assessed Values as of October 1, 2011 $5,521,000.00?
Why aren't permits and plan approvals contingent upon payment of Real Property Taxes?
